Website hacked
boerbiet :: Friday Feb 5, 2010, 11:25
On Feb 3rd either our hosting account or our hoster was compromised. Someone managed to run a script which altered all the source code files of both the website and the forums. The script created a hidden iframe element on each page with a link to a shady url. Judging from messages posted by some users it seems the link activated a java file, probably making all users having java installed vulnerable to whatever-the-injection-did, regardless of the web browser you use.
All website files have been cleaned. All forums files have been cleaned. All passwords have been changed. User passwords on the forums have not changed. We assume all the culprits wanted to do was hide a script injection hoping nobody would notice. Feel free to change your forum password, though, if you would like to do so.
If you run Windows as your OS, please scan you system for any threats, in case anything got through due to the script injection. If you have any questions, feel free to reply here or on the forums.
We're sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
Poll fraud
boerbiet :: Friday Jan 30, 2009, 11:50
Just an FYI, we may not monitor them all the time, but we do monitor the polls for fraud. I just lowered the votes for MinDeadBlood with 41 votes due to someone repeatedly voting for it over the past few days. Fraud will be corrected as it is detected and the violating IP addresses will be banned from all polls.
Comments screwed
boerbiet :: Friday Sep 26, 2008, 10:56
Regular visitors probably noticed the comments link doesn't work properly anymore. We still manage our news / comments / rss sytem via blogger.com and apparantly they changed something confusing my scripts.
I'll look into it when I have some time on my hands, hopefully some time tomorrow. In the meantime, please use the shoutbox or use the comment links on our blogger source.
Edit Sept 29th: The problem should be resolved now.
Upgraded forums
boerbiet :: Friday Aug 1, 2008, 14:48
The forums have been disabled at this time, since they are being upgraded in order to provide you with more security and more options. This message will be updated once the upgrade is completed.
Update: The new forums are live. We upgraded to the latest release of phpBB v3. All forums, messages and settings have been migrated as well. Please report any bugs or mistakes you may find! I've been having quite some trouble with the host and had to hack a bit. Everything seems okay though.
Please take note of the fact that your password may not have been migrated correctly. If this is the case, you can request a new one. Apologies for any inconvenience.
