Dark Translations -- debauchery awaits

Taimanin Murasaki and Devils Devel Concept

Nephrinn :: Wednesday Jun 17, 2009, 22:29

There is a battle brewing between Taimanin Murasaki and Devils Devel Concept with Vital's and swiftnissity's recent commissions, putting Devils Devel Concept ahead by $49 ($800 to $751). I suspect that this won't be the end, but the 21st of June is the deadline for commissions on my next project. I do want to encourage others to get involved in the commission process to help people like Vital, Darkfusion, and pj1351, who contribute large amounts for these games, to take the pressure off of them. No amount is too small.

I will also likely be making changes in how I go about translating games in the future. The first change will be only translating what is actually paid for. For example, if I only receive half the commissions for Taimanin Murasaki, then I will only translate half the game before moving onto another project until the rest of the commissions are received. Priority will be based on the order the games get commissioned, so if Murasaki got commissed before Devils Devel Concept, then as long as Murasaki is paid for, Murasaki will always get priority over it. I will make sure everyone understands this before beginning secondary projects.

I also will no longer be doing side projects. It's just way too much for me to handle. By the time I'm done translating on my main project for the day, I'm too tired to do anything else.

I know that there's still an issue with smaller games getting shafted by bigger games due to the way the commission process currently works (most money wins). At the moment, I'm not sure how to fix this without pissing everyone off. Vital made a thread in the commissions forum about it, so feel free to make suggesstions there.

That's about it for now.

Devils Devel Concept overtakes AIL game

Nephrinn :: Monday Jun 15, 2009, 13:10

After checking with the person who commissioned it, Darkfusion, to confirm, it looks like Devils Devel Concept by Akatsuki Works will be my next project after Shion with $700 proposed.

Here is a game synopsis by ErogeShop:

Human, monsters, and beasts.... The world doesn't forgive them.... There is a town where mysterious cases often happen. The ones who have special ability called Enja. The origin of Enja is "devil". They get together as if led by something unseen and kill each other. Sora is an Enja boy. He lost his parents several years ago and now lives alone. His life is full of peace, rest, and destruction. Peaceful school life with friends. Strange dreams he has every day. Battles against devils that appear in the town at night. His "contract" leads him to Hell of sadness, fights, and carnage. He also meets some girls along the way. Love, obedience, subordination, immorality, and desire. Sora, who doesn't know how to love, is a broken human. What does Sora get, what does Sora lose through contracts with the girls? At the end of the contract, he meets the last devil....
And a review by Eroge Review giving it a 75/100.

The deadline for commissions will probably be around the end of the week (June 21st), so there is still a chance for another game to take the lead.

Commissions List (and file)

Nephrinn :: Wednesday May 20, 2009, 22:05

I went through all the commissions that have been posted in the forums and made an Excel file out of them. It appears that I've made a mistake. AILsoft's Watashi no Shiranai Mesu no Kao looks to be my next project at $650. I still need to check with bayman and Goemon to see if they're still willing to contribute, however.

I'm going to try and keep this file updated and I'll have it posted in the forums.

The Excel file has clickable links to the commissions posted in the forum, so you can easily get more information about each of the commissioned games listed.

You can download the Excel file here.

The Asou Twins...new patch is up...and commissions

Nephrinn :: Tuesday Feb 3, 2009, 18:22

This patch completes the game from Nozomi's point of view and adds the first two scenes from Kanami's point of view. All of the scenes from Nozomi's point of view have already been edited by Darkfusion, while the additional Kanami scenes are currently being edited.

In other news, MinDeadBlood has reached the $500 mark in proposed commissions, so it looks like it will be a translation project in the future.

And as you might already notice, there's a movement to translate Asagi 2 ahead of Shion. I've said as much on the forums, and if the two other Shion contributers don't come forth and say it's okay, I'm going to move ahead with translating Shion, no questions asked. As someone pointed out on the forums, I don't want anyone to feel pressured into doing this and it will likely be the only time it happens.

The Asou Twins...new patch is up

Nephrinn :: Thursday Jan 29, 2009, 19:37

Alright, the third scene is now finished and the second scene has been proofread and padded by Darkfusion. There were a few errors in the second scene that Darkfusion found, but they should be fixed now. The third scene hasn't been proofread or padded yet, so be aware of that.

The Asou Twins is coming along nicely and it looks like I should be able to finish it by the end of next week.

In other news, commissions are still being proposed. Asagi 2 is up to $115 in commissions and Kansen 3 is up to $260. You can click on their respective links for more information about the games and commission details.

Commissions update...

Nephrinn :: Monday Jan 26, 2009, 08:58

This time it's for Shion, a "meta-morphing heroine high school survival adventure". The game already has $450 proposed and is just $50 shy of becoming my first commissioned project. If the game interests you, consider chipping in here.

Elf Hime Nina is also up to $450, so it looks like it's going to be in a race with Shion.

Finally, MinDeaDBlood is up to $300 now.

Check those and all other commissions or propose your own here.

New commission...

Nephrinn :: Sunday Jan 25, 2009, 15:29

MinDeaDBlood has been approved for translation and currently has $300 in commissions. The game is an action-packed thriller that has a vampire/gothic theme to it. If you'd like to chip with it getting commissioned, please visit this post.

In other news, while I haven't had much time to translate Asagi, work is still progressing.
